Reading Body language and conversation
Meeting someone the first time is certainly awkward at
times. Here are some tips that I learned over the years
The introduction:
Lines dont work. Be casual and say something non threatening,
unuasual perhaps , or warming
Listen to his or her response. Key into key words that are
spoken. Listen carfully. ( talking about oneself is boring
and rude- wait until asked) Using their conversation,
explore the subjects hinted in their " key words "
.
Watch the language of the body while engaging in the conversation.
Uncomfortable subjects will solicit a stare in the opposite
attention.
Engage in conversation while looking at the other person,
but do not stare intensely. ( and guys, steal gazes at her
body, but do not stare!)
Here is an important sign that things are going well. If
you are sitting next to someone, and they are interested,
they will actually turn towards you. If they are still sitting,
gazing off constantly, it is not a good sign.
Sometimes it is a good idea to give the person a moment to
collect themselves and reflect. Momentarily excuse yourself
and return quickly. You dont want the good one to get away!
Be happy, smile often, listen, laugh and show you also enjoy
their company .
