You ask quite a few questions, and then answer them yourself.
Trouble is, your information is not very accurate. For
starters, the human race has NEVER been perfect, with a
perfect genetic code. Humans have never lived to be a
thousand years old. Thanks to the miracles of modern medicine,
people are living longer than ever. There was a time, not
that long ago, when people lived to the ripe old age of 40.
Today, the baby boomers are expected to live well into their
80s and beyond.
People do NOT become gay because they are lonely. While
the controversy rages on about whether or not being gay
is genetic, this has not been proven as of this date. There
are some studies currently being done, but it will take
years to prove or disprove this theory. Studies are hampered
by politics and bias. The studies that were done in the 90s
emphatically stated that the gay gene was identified,
but the results could not be duplicated making it what they
call, bad science. From these studies, they did determine
that the genetic code is carried on the X chromosome of
the female. This should make the men happy; women are the
ones who transfer this trait from generation to generation.

Some sectors of our society do not want a gay gene to be identified
because then, God forbid, people would have to stop being
prejudiced against gay people. Some gays also dont want
these studies to continue because they feel if a gay gene
is identified, it would mean they need to be fixed or repaired
somehow, and many gay people do not feel they need to be
fixed or repaired. This science follows the logic of,
for example, the cancer gene. When the genome study was
completed, they identified every gene in the human body.
Now, the challenge is to learn how to effectively shut that
gene off so it never becomes active. Following this line
of thinking, if and when they do find the gay gene, the next
step will be to learn how to shut it off so a person would be
heterosexual. Im sure you can understand that some people
dont like this thinking.
My son is gay. I went thru all the mind and soul searching
that goes with having a gay child as my son was growing up.
Did I do something wrong? Is it because of the way I raised
him? I asked myself tons of questions. I saw it in him when
he was a small child, and hoped I was wrong because of what
he would go thru in this society. I am in the medical field
and have access to the most recent knowledge and studies
regarding this subject. While I do believe that someday
they will prove that it is a combination of genetics, chemicals
in the body, and what science calls, nurture, or environment,
that day is not around the corner for the reasons I mentioned.
It will take years and no one is jumping on the bandwagon
to fund a massive study on this subject.
All the things you said about loneliness leads me to believe
