Voting on pictures.
I occasionally will see a picture in the "recent members"
gallery that strikes me as being interesting, and inspires
me to vote for it, and when I do, am occasionally perplexed
by others' votes. This has led me to try to systematize
my voting on pictures, as follows:
1) Something that makes me turn my head away and hope it clears
from my screen FAST!
2) Something that repels me.
3) Something that leaves me wondering why a better picture
wasn't picked. Generally bad lighting, a bad pose,
or a really unflattering combination of the above.
4) Just below average, and generally uninteresting.
5) Average. Nothing special, nothing awful.
6) Piques my curiosity, but doesn't inspire.
7) Interesting and attractive. If local, look at profile.
8) Very nice! Look at profile to see if other pictures are
as good.
9) Wow. Sit and stare for a while.
10) Involuntary Physiological Reactions. Drooling,
erection, losing track of time.
While these might not be how you vote, they work for me, and
(I hope) help those who are being rated to either fine-tune
or replace their posted pics. That's why we vote after
all, isn't it?
