Love's Battle
Here she is again
Rearing her pretty little head
The girl that I once knew
The one I thought was dead
A battle fought long ago
With my heavy sword of pain
I sliced her to bits and walked away
Exactly why is hard to explain
Seems every time she came around
Hurt would soon follow
While shes happily falling in love
I end up feeling sad and hollow
For shes the one always saying
He will stay if I just believe
But that is really all a lie
Otherwise he would never leave
I knew when I first saw her
He was halfway out the door
Oblivious to my pain
As I lay crying on the floor
I dont blame him for leaving
The fault is really all mine
I just cant seem to control her
She made him think all was fine
Again I will have to fight her
But it gets easier every time
Not so full of hopes and dreams
Being way past her prime
With all the strength I could gather
I grabbed my sword and shield
One strike and she went down
Now that my wounds have healed
Please just go away
I begged her never return
Love is not for everyone
At least from what I discern
Just leave me here all alone
Let me live life without you
For all the pain you have caused
It is the very least you can do
And with that I stabbed her
Right through her beating heart
Watching as the blood began to flow
Making sure we would always be apart
And with her last breath she told me
Fool you know not what you have done
I may leave but I will be back
And from me you cannot run
