Healing

HEALING

How heavy the heart of a lonely man,
Who felt he gave his all?
To carry the weight of a thousand regrets,
As his world begins to fall.

To lie alone in a darkened room,
Accompanied by his fears.
Alone with just his memories,
Smeared by lonesome tears.

Months go by and time flies on,
As flaming bridges burn.
He sits in quiet solitude,
'Til strength makes it's return.

How long this time that he must play,
The game of Solitaire?
Until he finds within himself,
The confidence to share.

Who is this man? I am he,
A simple man at best.
With burning need inside this heart,
That beats inside my chest.

I'll try again, I know the stakes,
I'll gladly play my part.
To live again in a peaceful place,
Right here inside my heart.
