Destroyer novels make the greatest diet books!!
Ok..I know what your thinking...WHAT THE FLIP is a Destroyer
novel??It's a really long, really old, really kick
ass book series that my husband has been collecting for
years and has gotten me hooked on.As an ex- soon to be back
in the belt loop-martial artist I did everything I could
to lose weight, tone up, gain strength, etc, etc, etc.And
I did my Tang Soo Do every day for God knows how many hours
a day.But the thing about all of that, running, walking, swimming
when the weather permitted, dieting...PHFFT!! It only
took me so far.I would tone up so much and then stop, lose
only so many inches and get only so strong before it flat
lined.Untill almost 3 years ago when I began reading about
Remo Williams and his short tempered teacher Chiun.I noticed
the diet Chiun kept Remo on, the breathing rutines and
so on and well...they didn't seem to be that difficult.A
diet of fish and only a few other choice meats, veggies, fruit, and
high protein rice.Mental work outs as well as physical, going
through push ups and 2 mile jogs in your mind as well as with
your body.Breathing techniques that may not be new to many
people, but hey! It's helped me gain more control
over the asthma that used to plague me after running a mile
studying under my Sam Bo Nim, with still 2 more miles to
go.Now I can't lift cars or bolders over my head like
Super Girl, or dodge bullets and never look like I even
moved like Remo or Chiun, but I certainly put the so called
MEN in the stock room in their places when they tried to make
me a member of the weaker sex at work by out lifting them and
not tiring as quickly.I highly recomend reading those
books to everyone that is intrested in leaping off that
annoying flat line and makeing you and your body progressively
stronger and healtier.
