Thanks for your comments. I completely get what you're
saying, and before I move on to Part II perhaps I should clarify
a little bit more.
I don't think that all this stuff is completely wrong,
merely that our culture is putting more emphasis on the
Metrosexual right now, and while that in itself is not bad,
I think we have to be very careful that we don't tip the
scales too much. Our culture should never send the message,
"It's archaic to be manly."
In point of fact and full disclousure, I probably lean more
to the Metro side of things. (Though I like the term "Renaissance
Man" much better! lol) I read and write Poetry, I Paint,
and my fashion style is "GQ." I drive a car instead
of a truck or SUV, and I take good care of my body, removing
excessive body hair, I use whitening strips,
and mosterizing lotion.
But I've also grown up in Texas, I like wearing boots
or "clod hoppers" on ocasion and Wranglers.
I like beer just as much as a fine glass of wine, and I watch
baseball religiously. (Go Astros!)
The key is balance, but more on that in Part II
