Does love really last -- was it love initially?
Having been married for 21 years, I have been questioning
"love" for a few years now. When we first married,
it was breathless and exciting and torrid much of the time.
But was that love or simply an illusion of what the other
person was like -- combined with lust? Now we have a "comfortable"
relationship with some occasional spark, but the excitement
and breathlessness are long gone. I suspect the relationship
has matured into a deeper love, but because so much is now
missing, I crave it elsewhere! I have talked with several
friends about this and nearly all of those who have been
married more than 15 years (both male and female) seem to
have similar feelings.
