Reply to "Dating 1995 vs. 2004"
I understand where you're coming from, even though
I was 10 in 1995. I still believe in chivalry, even though
everyone else says chivalry's dead. (Maybe it's
on life support, I dunno.) I hold doors open for my date,
and I open the car door for her, and close it once she's
in the car.
I even cover the bill, execpt when I'm really, REALLY
short on cash, but even then I split the bill, or she pays,
and then I pay her back. That last part suprises most of my
dates, because they're already reaching into their
purse before I can even pull my wallet out.
I still believe in the 'old-fashioned' values,
but I don't understand why they are 'old-fashioned'.
Did treating a lady with respect suddenly become 'uncool'?
I don't understand why women put up with the way most
guys act today.
Maybe it's a sign of the times, but that doesn't
mean I'm going to change how I do things.
